ZONE, the newest WRS album, is an immersive audio environment in sixteen interchangeable parts. ZONE is a labor of love – this is the longest I’ve ever spent working on a WRS project. The majority of the tracks were conceived in Summer 2017, then re-edited, re-recorded, re-arranged, re-shuffled, and re-contextualized throughout the following school year into their current form. They may continue to evolve in the future, mutating into as-of-yet unseen and unheard forms. The album shifts between hyperactive spazpop and downtempo helljazz with short “abstractions” that serve as noisy breathers. Enjoy the album for FREE here starting August 17th – it will soon be available on streaming services and hopefully cassettes too.
